Don't know exactly what the brush was used for. I think it was an ancient method of beating the worms to produce more silk.

CD bought a "couple of things", Zack bought the sickest silk tie ever, Justin bought silk socks, Alex bought a silk bathrobe, and Eric decided just hop in the picture
After we toured the silk factory, we headed over to the Pearl factory to see how pearls are extracted and manufactured into jewelry.

There were about 22 pearls found in this one. The pearls were taken out and the oyster was thrown out. They don't preserve the meat.

The Chinese are very wily. Their tours and demonstrations end up in some type of sales pitch and they drag you in and get you.

...and some students, and me. Here in this pic, the saleswoman tied the knots right in front of us. Very professional.

After I dropped a lot of money on some pearls, I was able to take a complimentary photo with the two salespeople that sucked me right in. All jokes aside, the pearls that Mr. Nystrom and I left with were absolutely beautiful. I received a special discount and some free earrings because they thought I was a student...lol
