MONDAY 6/16/2008

6/16/08
MONDAY

Most of us have been waiting for this trip to finally arrive. Some students had been waiting a couple of years for this date, while I anxiously waited since December. Here we are with the students and parents saying goodbye at Bradley Airport at 9 a.m.

Looking good in CIBA red.

Waiting for our 12:00 flight to Detroit

Needless to say, we landed in Detroit without incident. It was a smooth flight and we were able to relax a bit until we had to board the plane for our 13 hour flight to Japan.

Everyone waiting anxiously to board the plane to China. Jim kept us entertained by river dancing.

7 hours into the flight and mostly everyone still looking chipper.

Mike and Justin pose for the cam while Yomarie runs for cover.

Hanging out in Tokyo, Japan at 5 p.m.

Getting ready to board on our connecting flight to Beijing.

Finally landed in China (10:05 a.m. in CT 10:05 p.m. in China)

Mr. Liu already barking orders

The students were troopers during this long flight. They were in good spirits and were very excited to be in China despite the long hours spent traveling.

An outside shot of the Beijing International Hotel.

Checking in.
